Hello, I’m Alexis and I wear many hats! I’m a busy Mum to two energetic Boys, a Primary School Teacher and a passionate advocate for authentic, play-based learning!

I started The Nature Seekers after teaching in a Reggio Emilia Nursery in the UK, and I realised my passion. Authentic, play-based, creative learning!!

After over ten years as a Teacher, I had become disheartened by the ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach in schools. As well as astounded by the amount of paperwork and lack of time available for children to ‘play’ and ‘learn’ outdoors. I couldn’t be as creative in my role as I wanted to be, and I craved the hands-on approach that once existed in schools.

Thus, I didn’t return to teach after having my children, and started planning my business. In 2021 with a one-year-old in tow, I launched two nature-play playgroups in Secret Harbour and Rockingham.

Since these humble beginnings, our offerings have expanded to working with many different organisations and services. The Nature Seekers now offers an array of different workshops, incursions and event activities.
